Dr Gupta is an experienced General Practitioner with more than 20 years of clinical practice, including five years dedicated to skin cancer diagnosis and management. Dr Gupta holds a Master of Surgery from India and worked as a general surgeon in Australia for 13 years before transitioning to General Practice and moving to Australia. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and holds additional qualifications including a Professional Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine, Diploma in Child Health (DCH), and Diploma in Anaesthesia (DA).
He has advanced skills in dermatoscopy and dermatosopic photography, performing comprehensive skin checks using high-resolution dermatoscope capturing macro and micro images to support accurate diagnosis and ongoing monitoring.
Alongside his clinical work Dr Gupta is actively involved in medical education, as a Senior Medical Educator, he trains junior doctors preparing for general practice. He also contributes to international medical journals as both a writer and reviewer, and serves the RACGP as an Examiner and Quality Assessor (QA).
Dr Gupta is known for his compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, guided by the philosophy of Sir William Osler: ‘The good physician treats the disease, the great physician treats the patient who has the disease’. Outside of work he enjoys photography, trekking, bushwalker and spending time with his family.
